What is sleep apnea?
  • Sleep apnea occurs when a person stops breathing during sleep.

Health implications of sleep apnea
  • 1 in 7 Americans has sleep apnea.
    • No age, sex, race or body type is immune.
  • People with less than 6 hours of sleep have a 50% increased risk of obesity.
  • Only 5-10% of people are diagnosed, which means 90% are undiagnosed.
  • Untreated apnea patients are 3x more likely to die in a car crash.
